Our friendship, which began sixty years ago at Junior school, was forged on the love of sport, sport and more sport.
We were both always selected for the school football and cricket teams, often alongside older boys. Johnno always became the star player, but I always won at Subbuteo!  Later on in the Senior school, Nick went on to national success at athletics and of course rugby, at which he truly excelled. In all sports a natural captain, supremely talented, understated and fiercely determined.

From those schooldays our friendship progressed into adult life; music, golf, horse racing were added to the list - our joint 21st birthday party and being an usher each other’s wedding are examples of great memories. Where has that time gone?

A wonderful man - you will be greatly and sadly missed Johnno. Fare well my friend! Dobbo
